OLLAGES SAUCES

History

Peppers are one of the most common ingredients found in traditional cooking anywhere in Africa, enriched in vitamins, fiber, anti-oxidants and other properties which serve as immune system boosters. Growing up in Ghana, I was fortunate to be exposed to different kinds of them at an early age. I loved the smell peppers brought out in our meals back home.

I moved to Switzerland in my adolescent years and realized that most Europeans hardly cooked with peppers or were unaware of the magic flavor this ingredient can add to a meal. So, with time, I explored the few kinds available in the local market, their taste, and their beautiful colors. They intrigued me and decided what I could do with them. Gradually, I experimented with  diverse flavor types and their distinctive aromas. It was then I observed my broad range of European friends found great pleasure for my cooking with the various peppers.

It was at this point that the idea emerged of blending my Ghanaian traditional pepper recipe with European spices to bring out a spicy condiment, sauce, to suit the European taste. Working part-time, I took advantage of my off days and decided to make my first sauce, Bonaki, which I shared with friends. It came out with outstanding compliments, it was a hit!. Ollages sauces were born out of passion, inner-drive and perseverance from a single mother who had many life challenges but believed in her God given potential to turn her dream into a reality.

Ollages sauces are all free from palm oil, with no preservatives or added artificial flavor, ideal for vegetarians. They are home-made, 100% natural, and carefully prepared with love in each jar. Sauces can stay at a moderate temperature for over a year when not opened. Once opened, it must be stored in a fridge always with some oil on top. Always use a clean-dry spoon to scoop and consumed within one month. Ollages has grown to include four different varieties of spicy sauces, and the story of innovation is on going…... Eat well, stay healthy!
